Fixing the Broken Global Food and Farming System

Nyéléni 2007 World Forum on Food Sovereignty

This week Grassroots Journal features on-the-ground reports and updates from Nyéléni 2007, the Forum on Food Sovereignty in Mali, West Africa. Hundreds of farmers, fisherfolk, agricultural workers and environmental and indigenous organizations have convened there to share ideas and develop an action plan for building a food system that is equitable, healthy and sustainable.

Corrina Steward, Grassroots' Resource Rights specialist, and other members of the North American delegation (including members of progressive farmer and farm workers movements in the U.S.) are sharing their impressions of the conference as it unfolds. We're also featuring reports, interviews and analysis from our international partners and allies.
