Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR)
The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) works to protect human rights and promote the rule of law, and was recognized as an effective voice for the human rights of the Palestinian people through awards such as the Human Rights Prize from the French Republic. PCHR has gained an international reputation as an independent voice on human rights vis-à-vis both Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
The Center works in the Gaza Strip as a monitor of violations by the Palestinian Authority and Israel, documenting and researching the human rights situation. Its lawyers defend victims of human rights abuses, from cases of illegal detention to torture. Internationally and within the region, PCHR is an active advocate for the application of international law to the Palestinian situation, providing definitive studies and presenting testimony at international fora.
GRI supports PCHR's legal unit, which prosecutes cases for victims of human rights violations.
